Habitat:

Found hanging on a crate in our warehouse, Springfield Missouri.

Thank you all so much for the information. Probably would have found it at some time searching but this is more fun. Brought it home today after work and tied it to a stick with some thread, (so it's hanging in the same position I found it) laid the stick over the top of a large mason jar, so it hangs down inside it. Will see what happens, and everyone on Facebook whats daily updates ;) Thanks again.

You should hang this pupa back up. You can tie it with fishing line to a piece of screen in a container and wait for it to emerge! If you leave it down, it might not be able to emerge properly.

That is a very neat find! This is a Monarch butterfly chrysalis.
