Description:

Fruticose lichen. U. florida presents dense, shrubby, +/- erect grey-green thallus, whose base is persistly blackened. Main stems contain minute papillae and numerous fibrils. Soredia and isidia are absent. It is usually fertile with large apothecia surrounded by ray-like projections.

Habitat:

Found in exposed, well-lit habitats, usually on deciduous twigs and branches in the tree canopy. Spotted on the bark of an oak tree
