Bos taurus
This is a breed of domestic cattle, specifically part of the Sanga group, originally bred in east Africa. They are believed to be the result of hybridization between indigenous humpless cattle and Zebu cattle brought into Ethiopia from Asia. They are distinguished from Zebu by having small cervico-thoracic humps instead of a high thoracic hump. Males and females both have distinctive horns that can be up to an 8-foot spread.
