andrecoppe, I agree it looks identical, but I can't find any references for it in Florida. I think I'll submit it to bugguide and see what they say.

Hi Machi!
This dragonfly is probably an Aphylla angustifolia (Gomphidae), but I'm not sure. Take a look here: http://bugguide.net/node/view/61133
