A type of glassfish perhaps? Maybe pygmy sweepers? They were small and schooled together. There were thousands of them around and inside the WWII Black Island Wreck that I lost track of my dive buddy even though he was only 2m away. This meant there were also numerous large lion fish hunting them.

NEAT! it is nice to swim in schools of fishes like this! I remember snorkling in the sealion rookeries in Baja, lots of schooling fishes, no wonder the pinnipeds raise their young there.
