Hi Ava! These look like our Swiss dairy mottled breed. It was developed in the Bernese Oberland, from different local varieties and the Simmental breed. Further crosses with the American Red Holstein have increased milk production in this breed. All domestic cattle are Bos taurus.

Thanks HIGGI. These were really the happy cows who had a whole field to roam around in and graze. They were sweet, but plagued by flies as in the first picture.
