Chestnut-tailed Starling

Sturnia malabarica

Description:

Another favorite visitor but not a regular one. Generally rufous with an ashy head. Wings ash coloured dorsally. Touch of blue at the base of the yellow beak.

Habitat:

Supposedly residents of the state where I live but I hardly see them in summer. Come to drink and bathe on my terrace and maybe check out the buffet.

Notes:

Kath-shalikh in Bangla.
