Callisaurus draconoides

Description:

Large lizard with granular scales, two folds across throat, external ears. Gray, usually with paired dusky spots running down back, becoming crossbands on tail. Black crossbars on white underside of flattened tail. Male has pair of black bars on side, extending into large blue blotches on belly. Female lacks blue blotches; black bars faint to absent.

Habitat:

Areas of hard-packed soil with little vegetation
