Whip Coral Shrimp

Pontonides unciger

Description:

This tiny sized Whip Coral Shrimp - Pontonides unciger is less than 1 cm in size on its host, the whip coral. At the same time, a juvenile trumpet fish was 'camouflaging' by the side of the Whip Coral which also has a Crinoid clinging to it. It may looks like the Trumpet Fish is eyeing the Shrimp for food, but it is unlikely to get i for food as it is too small for it to bother, so the Shrimp is safe.

Habitat:

Tropical reef
