Tolmie's Saxifrage

Saxifraga tolmiei

Description:

Mats flat and creeping, erect flower stems. Plant holds old leaves under new deep green ones. Leaves fleshy, 1/2–3/4 in., widest at divided tip, 3 lobes. Flower stems 1–3 in., somewhat hairy, glandular above, holding 1 or more flowers. Flowers unspotted, white or cream, held in shallow purplish red cups.

Habitat:

Grows in rocky talus, on outcrops to alpine slopes.

Notes:

This was spotted on the Naches Peak Loop Trail on Mt. Rainier NP.
