Black-capped Chickadee (Hand-feeding)

Poecile atricapillus

Description:

Series: It seems as if I made a new friend... a friendly little Black-capped Chickadee. Although I usually bring a little wild bird food with me on my nature outings, these little guys seem more interested in the sunflower seeds I brought for myself! :)

Habitat:

Woodland Trail

Notes:

Interesting Facts, http://lansingwbu.blogspot.com/2010/11/f..., "They are cavity nesters that usually mate for life. They will excavate their own nest site in a rotten or decaying wood, use an old woodpecker hole or use a nesting box. They add a cozy nest on a moss base."
