Carolina Mantis

Stagmomantis Carolina

Description:

Around two inches long with a bright red abdomen under the dark wings.

Habitat:

Right next to the closed door of my garage

Notes:

I've never really seen one before, so when I went outside in the morning and saw it above the door to the garage I was quite surprised. Note to self: Do not grab it by the thin part of it's body. It is not a crawdad. It can still pinch you.
