Great Reed Warbler

Acrocephalus arundinaceus

Description:

Large warbler, almost thrush sized, earth-brown above and cream-whitish bellow, with a strong yellowish supercilium.

Habitat:

Reed vegetation on banks of river, outskirts of an inland town in Herzegovina (Mediterranean environment, close to Dubrovnik). Common European (Old World) warbler.

Notes:

It proved difficult to catch this gal or fella on photo, as it moved very fast inside the reed vegetation - we spent almost an hour trying to trace him/her from the other side of river... Pics are a bit grainy because of distance and big cropping later on - I included them in spite of low quality, because it was a lifer for me...
