Grey Shrike Thrush - male

Description:

A medium-sized bird with soft brownish grey colouring. The nape and back were a bronze colour and the throat and belly a pale grey. A white patch between the eyes and black long beak indicates that it is a male. It had a beautiful song.

Habitat:

Spotted in a scruby open woodland - a reserve with mixed native trees & shrub. ( Baluk Willum Reserve)

Notes:

These birds are common and widespread throughout most of Australia. They feed on insects, small mammals, birds eggs and small reptiles.
Order: Passeriformes
Family: Pachycephalidae
