Bee Fly

Description:

A weird little Bee Fly, 7mm long, brown, covered in both short hair and long hair. The wings are patterned in brown. It has a strange humpbacked pose at rest and wing venation that is odd, with a peculiar spur on on the first long vein. The beak is short and the antennae are not particularly long. Family Bombyliidae, maybe of the Subfamily Ecliminae?

Habitat:

Garden lights, semi-rural residential area, San Cristobal de Las Casas, Chiapas, Mexico, 2,200 meters.
