Plagiothecium undulatum
Large, glossy, pale whitishgreen plants in mats; stems 3–15 cm long, little branched, conspicuously flattened. Leaves medium, egg- to lance-shaped with transverse wrinkles toward the tip; midrib short, double. Sporophytes common; seta dark red to light brown; capsule smooth, curved, nearly vertical. On logs, humus, tree stumps in shaded forest. Also known as Buckiella undulata.-USDA
Found in moist, shaded habitats from low to high elevations.often on decaying logs and stumps in coniferous forest and along streams. Tends to form large mats. It is a widespread species; from Southeastern Alaska to Northern California and inland to Idaho.
