Oecophorid Moth

Zonopetala clerota

Description:

This is a small moth with a wing span of about 20 mm. It rests with wings flat on wither side of body. It is mostly white with two black bands, a black collar around the head and some black markings along the trailing margin. A hind wing is partially visible - it is said to be a pale yellow

Habitat:

Spotted near a sports field with Eucalyptus trees.

Notes:

Larvae of these moths feed on gum tree leaves. Family: Oecophoridae Subfamily: Oecophorinae
