Thanks for the reply Neil. I don't have a closer image. I spotted it in our backyard and took the picture from inside the house. I can recall colour was black and not sure of any other markings. Thanks. Ashruti

Hi, ashrutipandya, and welcome to Project Noah. I also live in Brisbane. I would suggest this is a snake, and my first impression was that it's one of the smaller Crowned Snake species. Do you recall what colour it was, and were there any identifiable markings, say a band around its nape, or stripes, etc. Without a closer image, it's impossible to give you an ID. Here's one spotting I had or a small snake, a Dwarf-crowned snake - http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/221... Another possibility is a White-crowned snake.
