Dense clumps of gray-green, linear leaves. Open umbels of reddish-purple flowers (not quite open in this photograph).

Habitat:

Dry rocky slopes and cliffs along Columbia River. Indigenous to Columbia Valley. This sighting in valley of Catherine Creek, a tributary to Columbia River.
