Unknown Spotting ( Spider )

Description:

Spider: I went outside early in the morning, and I saw a spider, resting on its web. It's web, was under the outdoor night light bulb. It was a medium-sized spider. It's web was about eighteen inches long, and about twelve inches wide. This spider was of a dark color. Phylum: Arthropoda Class: Arachnida Order: Araneae All spiders, have two body segments, and eight legs. Spinnerets present on tip of abdomen. Spiders ( order Araneae ), are air-breathing arthropods , that have eight legs and chelicerae with fangs, that inject venom. Spiders do not have antennae or wings. Spiders eat whatever insects are available in the environment. All spiders are beneficial predators, that feed on insects, spiders, and other arthropods, and thus help reduce pest populations in and around homes, landscapes, gardens, and crops. All spiders produce silk throughout there lifetime. Silk is produced as a liquid in specialized structures called spinnerets, located at the tip of the abdomen. Spider silk, is used to build webs and other types of snares, that capture prey, and to make egg cases, draglines, shelters, and retreats. This spider is alive, and able to move and hunt.

Habitat:

There are about 40,000 types of spiders in the world, living on every continent except Antarctica. Spiders are able to live, just about anywhere. You will be able to find spiders, living in very dry habitats. The tropic regions, are also home to many species of spiders. Spiders may be found in trees, on plants, and even living in the blades of grass, in your yard. Spiders can also live in the wetlands. Some spiders live along the edge of lakes and ponds too. Spiders are even making there home, in your home. Spiders need to be able to build there webs, and have enough prey coming along, for them to survive. This spider is alive, and able to move and hunt.
