Description:

A male summer tanager at the Tulsa Zoo. These birds are so colorful and have a wonderful song, often compared to that of the American robin. They live high up in trees in cup nests on horizontal branches.

Habitat:

Found throughout the Southern United States, they migrate to Mexico, Central and South America, and very rarely Eastern Europe.
