Jack jumper ant

Myrmecia pilosula

As far as I can tell, this is a jack jumper ant. Size, body shape, hair, head structures all match descriptions online. Only difference that wasn't mentioned in species descriptions was the red-tipped abdomen as a possible variant.

Found wandering over a grassy area with sandy/rocky soil.

Found this while out camping in the Australian bush in New South Wales. The campsite was Millionth Acre in the Hampton State Forest.
