Pygmy Nuthatch

Sitta pygmaea

Habitat:

pine forest

Notes:

This is my favorite species of nuthatch for a reason; where there's one, there's more! They are hyperactive balls of fluff. My first sighting of this species was in the San Bernardino mountains of California. I'm happy to know that they have strong numbers in Arizona too.
