Dicaeum australe
Red-keeled Flowerpecker, one of the 12 endemic flowerpeckers found in the Philippines. The call is a metallic seep seep seep and ranges from almost all the major islands in the Philippines except Palawan and Mindoro.
It prefers the canopy of forests and forest edge and can be seen feeding on flowering and fruiting trees.
can you visually discern intelligence the way this flowerpecker squeezes the fruit? yes they instinctually (as we prefer to say it rather than intellectually) recognized the end of the pedicel as the only egress point of the sap whenever this fruit be clutch up by beaks

i totally agree with you Maria
I have a parrot as pet so I can say I would not be worried to use the word "intelectually". Many things some birds do show the same intelligence as baby and toddler humans so I am sure there is a bit more than "instinct" in that fruit picking :-)
thank you Noel Buensuceso
