Description:

It is found in the Eastern United States. The crane-fly orchid, is a perennial terrestrial woodland orchid. It is the only species of the genus Tipularia found in North America. It emerges in autumn, over winters, and disappears in the late spring to early summer. There are no leaves at the time the orchid blooms.
