1.5 - 1.75 inches in length with 2.5 - 3.0 inch wingspann, dark brown to black head, gray - black thorax. Male’s abdomen white with a black tip, transparent wings have a broad dark black band near the edge of the wing.
Habitat: Ponds, slow streams. reedy shallows
