Nona

Annona reticulata

Description:

Fruit. It is also called Bullock's heart because of its shape. The skin is smooth but not slippery smooth. It does not have the rectangular textured finish that custard apple (Aata in Bangla) has although the inside is very similar: sweet, white pulp with big black seeds.

Habitat:

Kayal's garden or Kayaler Bagan. This garden was acquired by the govt. and thrown open to the public in 2005 or thereabouts. It is an old garden full of 100 year old trees, ferns, mushrooms, orchids, birds, spiders and insects.
