Macropus giganteus
Mum and bub - update on joey in the pouch from previous sighting - finally a head emerges into the morning light. It's a bit bright for a sleepy baby, and mum has a rest too. Large grizzly grey furred macropod, a marsupial the kangaroo carries joey in the pouch for about 9 months as it grows, becomes furred and is able to move around comfortably on its own outside the pouch, feeding from a teat inside the pouch continues on and off for months afterwards varying with individuals. Adults graze on grasses mostly, also herbs and shrubs.
Found throughout eastern Australia, these ones in dry woodland environment.
Joey tries some of what mum's having (grass). This mother and her two children are frequent visitors.

Thanks beaker98. It's always a concern if this family doesn't turn up at some time during each day as I fear they have suffered a similar fate as other wildlife here. It's fund watching each new baby grow and explore the world outside the pouch.
That's just adorable! What a great series kd!
Thanks Jemma. I've been waiting for joey to look outside, seems there's always just the legs poking out. The beautiful morning light must have been too tempting.
adorable.
