Fruit fly

(Tephritidae barr 04)

Description:

This tiny fly of about 3mm was moving about on new orange flower buds. The strikingly patterned wings were waving around constantly. The abdomen was droplet shaped with a very pointed tail.

Habitat:

Suburban back yard on grafted citrus flower buds.

Notes:

A fruit fly of the non destructive variety.
Rotten pics due to size, constant movement and very windy day but might be enough for an ID.
