Sand lizard

Lacerta agilis

Description:

Tiny 11-13 cm green-brown coloured lizard, with light cream and dark brown spots along its sides and back, forming bands.

Habitat:

It occupies a wide-range of habitats, including man-made, especially in my area, where it is quite common.

Notes:

I found this tiny little guy (male) in my backyard, it was missing big part of its tail and I didn't want to bother him too much. He had beautiful green flanks to impress the ladies. I managed to get a couple of shots, but he quickly scurried away unfortunately. I can't tell subspecies so if anyone has a clue, please let me know.
