Yellow Garden Spider

Argiope aurantia

Description:

Very small arachnid that looks black and white. It has dark and light striped legs and body. The web is spun in a zig zag pattern

Habitat:

Yellow garden spiders often build webs in areas adjacent to open sunny fields where they stay concealed and protected from the wind

Notes:

Found near my backyard. I was originally taken by the stunning zig zag patterned web. Upon closer examination, there was a spider in the web.

Thank you Brian. I'll have to continue looking for adults. The web is so cool. I'll have to see how many ways I can capture the web.
