Black-faced Monarch

Monarcha melanopsis

Description:

Smallish bird with mainly pale grey body, distinctive black face and black ring around the eye, and fiery red breast. This is the first time I've ever seen one of these - so a new ticked box for me :)

Habitat:

Woodland near my work. It was high in a tree and I only saw it thanks to the flash of red on it's breast.
