Heterophasia capistrata

Description:

Black head and rich rufous coloured feathers on the body. Long tail tipped grey with black band just above the end. The back is browinsh- greyish. Has a melodious song.

Habitat:

Village Kolakham. Altitude 1868m in the Kalimpong Hills of Darjeeling District, on the fringes of Neora Valley National Park.

Notes:

If only these birds would sit still and face the sun.
