Wrinkled dove snail

Amphissa columbiana

Description:

Marine snail that scavenges on dead flesh and dead algae as well as scraps left from discarded octopus meals. They are of varying colors. 2-3 cm long. These where clustered together under a rock in a tide pool.

Habitat:

Spotted in a tide pool at Tongue Point Marine Sanctuary. Under rocks at low tide. Rocky beach.

Notes:

Range Alaska to southern California.
