Cretan Bugloss

Anchusella cretica

Description:

Low to short, bristly annual. Stems erect to ascenting. Leaves linear-lanceolate, toothed or not, the lower short-stalked. Flowers purplish, becoming blue with white lines, occasionally pure white, 6-9 mm, funnel-shaped, the tube slightly shorter than the limb, curved. Nutless, netted, rough, 3-4 mm.

Habitat:

Rocky and dry grassy habitats, roadsides, olive graves.

Notes:

Greek name: Άγχουσα η κρητική.
