Ipê-amarelo (Yellow-ipe)

Tabebuia longiflora

Description:

(ENGLISH: Many streets of our cities have individuals of this species, during flowering, form intense yellow rugs and runners. A peculiar characteristic of the yellow-ipe - indeed, of all ipe - is the absence of leaves during the reproductive season. The ipe loses all its leaves during the permanence of the flowers on the tree, forming large colorful tops.)

Habitat:

Cerrado. Nas fotos, um exemplar encontrado na rua. Os outros na beira de uma estrada. Santana da Vargem/MG - Brasil. (ENGLISH: Cerrado. In the first photo, a specimen found on the street. The others, is on the edge of a road. Santana da Vargem / MG - Brazil)
