Village Kolakham; a remote, forested area at an altitude of 1868m in the Kalimpong Hills of Darjeeling District, on the fringes of Neora Valley National Park.

This is not a bee, but a fly, fam. Syrphidae.
Looks like Sphaerophoria scripta, male, but I'm not sure this species occurs in India.
