Butterfly

Description:

Dead butterfly found in building. I think this one might be a Dark Evening Brown butterfly. Found lying in the hall in the building I live in. The first photo indicates he may have had a run-in with a bird, as it appears pieces of his wings are in the picture. Part of the roof of this building is open, so it's possible he encountered a bird.

Habitat:

Neighborhood with lots of individual gardens around.

Notes:

For some reason, Dark Evening Browns like this building.I have seen them flying around inside on several occasions. With the open roof, they can come and go as they please.
