Okay after much hunting I think it's an earlier instar of cedar incense sphinx, Sphinx libocedrus

This is a sphinx moth and in still looking for an ID. Closest so far would be early instar of hermit sphinx (instars are stages, the molt between each one until maturity, then they form their chrysalis)
