Rock Rattlesnake

Crotalus lepidus

Description:

Rock rattlesnake.

Habitat:

Found in a rocky and sandy arroyo in the Trans-Pecos desert. Surrounding desert creosote scrubland.

Notes:

This was found in an arroyo in which I was doing my remote photography research. At the time a fellow naturalist and colleague who joined me on my camera check had heard it as we walked through. He was quite the beauty!
