7-9 1/2 inches. The female Red-winged Blackbird is heavily streaked with dusky brown. We had had a huge flock of them for a few months. Females appear much more shy than the males.
Marshes, swamps, wet and dry meadows and pastures.

Thanks. Couldn't figure out what it was I thought the females looked like the males. Never know in life.
