Lepiota mushroom

Lepiota haemorrhagica

Description:

These mushrooms had caps about 60 mm wide with thin dark red-brown scale covered skins. the stipe which started of narrow and then thickened towards the base was also the same colour as the cap. The flesh and gills were a clear white. The bruised outer margins of the gills were stain red with some colour along the free edges (?margination ). A poor spore print was pinkish-white ( pic 5)- this colour was better discernible on a white background.

Habitat:

Spotted under eucalyptus trees in a reserve. This fungus is stated to be common in forests.
