Bright red with a gleaming white stem. Round, button-like cap. Height of about 1".

Habitat:

Growing on detritus and dirt in a forest.

Notes:

I've no idea of the species of Russula (tentative ID given). There are hundreds.

I also thought it was a Russula species, but I was thrown off by the shape of the cap. It is likely that you're correct, chester. I'm not totally sure, but I'll list it as that for now. Thanks!
