Common Mullein

Verbascum thapsus

Description:

Native to Europe, northern Africa and Asia but now established as a weed in many other countries. Large plant with bluish-green, fuzzy leaves. Yellow flowers form on a tall spire.

Habitat:

Cedar Point County Park, NY. Wooded area not far from seashore.

Notes:

Many of the flower spires of this plant grow over 5 feet tall!
