A worldwide community photographing and learning about wildlife
Panthera onca
The jaguar is an amazing animal that is very rare to see in the wild.
We were in a boat doing a wildlife cruise in the Tortuguero National Park in Costa Rica and we saw the jaguar swimming. It quickly raced up on to the bank, looked at us and then vanished
Nobody had seen a jaguar in the national park for a very long time. They had found evidence in the form of scats but all the guides were very excited when they heard that we had seen one.

This is really a gorgeous spotting, and well completed, many thanks for sharing it with us.
Project Noah is a tool for people to learn about wildlife, share wildlife spottings, build nature journals and engage in citizen science. Here you will find a friendly community of people passionate about wildlife and conservation.
If you don’t know the organism, describe at least the place where the organism was spotted in “Habitat” paragraph; as that information can help to identify it.
If you need any more information about the functioning of the site, please visit our FAQ section here: https://www.projectnoah.org/faq
