Lobelia

Lobelia

Description:

Purple Wildflowers...Lobelia siphilitica, perhaps?

Habitat:

Large areas of open, native prairie grasslands. In direct sunlight and fairly close (within one city block) to fresh water sources

Notes:

I have never noticed a fragrance coming from these tiny, purple blooms and seldom see them covered in bees but I'm sure something must be pollinating them. Blooms are about the size of a woman's fingernail, from cuticle to tip, in length and perhaps as wide as her ring-finger.
