Description:

Small bright red flowers on a shrub about seven feet tall with dark green elliptic-shaped leaves. Some flowers had small olive green and black berries forward of the petals.

Habitat:

Lowland insular tropical mesic mixed forest.

Notes:

Spotted along the Upper Waimano Trail in south central Oahu about a third of a mile from the trailhead.
