Jelly Baby Fungus

leotia lubrica

Description:

Layer of slime over whole fruit body, I'm fairly sure the 'cap' was actually just a hemisphere of jelly. When I chewed it, it felt like soft jelly and when I cut a chunk off where the gills normally are, it seemed all jelly at least at first glance. http://mushroomobserver.org/117924
