Congratulations kozoga, your juvenile Arctic Stern is our Spotting of the Day!

''This juvenile Arctic tern (Sterna paradisaea) is our Spotting if the Day! Juvenile Arctic Terns differ from adults in their black bill, scaly appearing wings, and mantle with dark feather tips, dark carpal wing bar, and short tail streamers. During their first summer, juveniles also have a whiter forecrown as seen here. The Arctic Tern is most well known for its incredible long distance migration: it flies from its Arctic breeding grounds to the Antarctic and back again each year".
