Description:

Three leaves on a long stem growing from a Corm.The Spathe(pulpit) grows around the Spadix (jack). As the age they begin to produce female flowers. They do not self pollinate. It takes 3 to 4 years for the plant to get strong enough to flower.

Habitat:

Moist woodlands of eastern US and the Midwest down to Texas.
